“When we visited an important agricultural and seed company in Italy years ago, they told us that they had brought Siyes wheat (einkorn-triticummonococcum subsp. boeoticum) from the outskirts of Karacadağ in Mesopotamia, which they planted in research stations and introduced as the ancestor of wheat, we were happy on the one hand and sad on the other.
We were happy because the homeland of wheat, that is one of the most basic nutrients of mankind, was our land. We were sad because we were not the ones who developed it, and they were trying to sell us the product that they developed.
However, 10,000 years ago, those who brought wheat seeds to the soil for the first time in Çayönü, on the outskirts of Karacadağ, closed an era (hunting and gathering) in human history and opened a new era (production).
The agricultural production of mankind ensured that after a while it was settled life. And settled life was passed on this land for the first time. Villages, towns and cities were formed and the world population began to grow rapidly.
In the 18th century, when the population scientist Malthus said that while the human population was growing in geometric progression, food production increases in arithmetic progression, mankind understood that as the population grew faster than food production they should have produced more in order not to go hungry in the future. For this, modern and scientific technics were needed in agriculture. The goal now was how to get more product from the entire unit area.
Universities, Public and Private Institutes, companies and many scientists working in these places have done and will do thousands of studies and research in almost every field of agriculture.As a result of all those studies, it is understood that the most basic element of quality agriculture is seed. These new seeds, which are hybridized and loaded with different characteristics, carry mankind towards a safer future.
In recent years, the demand for Quality Seeds has increased in our country, especially with thespread of irrigation systems and the use of more modern techniques in agricultural areas.We have completed all the necessary infrastructure to meet this increasing demand and for our producers to get better quality and more efficient products and we have been serving in this sector since 2006. And we will always work to do better.
Because agriculture is the most important production activity that mankind does, and this production activity has to be done as long as humanity exists.”
